Zhangjiajie Sanxiaguo is a local specialty whose main ingredients are intestines, pig’s foot and pig’s head meat. Local cooks pick more than two of the ingredients and boil them together. There are two types of Sanxiaguo, dry pot and soup pot. However, the dry pot is spicy and mouth-numbing so those who don’t have much spicy food should consider before ordering it. Though it is a delicious dish, Sanxiaguo can rarely be seen in hotels in Zhangjiajie. You can only find it in local restaurants where the residents often go.
