Sangzhi Salty Dry Tofu is a famous local specialty. During the reign of Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty, salty dry tofu made in Sangzhi County was sold in many places such as Changsha, Wuhan and Guangzhou. It became popular all across Hunan province and Beijing as well when it was listed as a tribute to the emperor. It is proved by modern scientific analysis that salty dried tofu contains as much nutrition as milk and helps improve people’s looks.
