Tianmen Mountain is located in the Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. It is 1,518.6 meters above sea level and the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie.
The unique karst terrace landforms of Tianmen Mountain are rarely seen in other places. It is surrounded by precipitous cliffs with height differences of over 1,300 meters within an area of a few kilometers, allowing the isolated towering peaks to achieve a magnificent momentum found nowhere else.
Tianmen Mountain is relatively flat-topped and home to a well conserved primitive secondary forest and many rare and unique species of plants. In the mountain, towering old trees, intertwined vines, mosses, stalagmites, and clints are like scattered natural potted landscapes. For this reason, Tianmen Mountain is reputed as a garden in the air and a heavenly wonderland.
