Zhangjiajie is a city constructed for tourism. It is one of the most important tourism cities with rich tourism resources. Among them, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is the first national forest park in China. Wulingyuan, another major scenic area in Zhangjiajie, amazes visitors with its 3,000 peaks and 800 rivers.
In 2010, the first 3D movie Avatar picked its background in Zhangjiajie, introducing the nationally famous scenic area to the world. It is honored as an “authentic view of the Chinese landscape paintings” and a “contracted fairyland and an amplified bonsai”.
